Sebago ended my long time loafer hunt

I have been looking for the perfect loafer for a LONG time. I'd find a cute shoe, only to read a review that disparaged the craftsmanship, comfort, or look. It seemed like all the great loafer makers had a good shoe back in the day, but current day materials and manufacturing fall short of their historical standard. Alas, I found Sebago! I knew what to expect from the shoe after browsing TikTok videos. It arrived stiff and unyielding, but with patience, short wears, and lots of socks (good thing loafers and socks are in style now), I've broken them in to allow for longer wears. These shoes are a beautiful color and build. The leather sole is a little slippery, but with time and added texture from wear, I'm hoping they'll gain a little traction. Highly recommend if you're looking to avoid the mass produced Madewell, Jcrew, or the like. Sebago seems to be a good bet!

Beautifully made shoes BUT DAYS of break in required

These shoes are beautifully made. Extremely high quality and I can understand the price point on these shoes. BUT if you do not have very narrow feet, you may need to use shoe stretching spray and a shoe stretcher. I used both plus a hairdryer.. I tried breaking these in, just wearing around the house with socks, after 3 days nothing happened. I tried the shoe stretcher.. very little change.. Last night I sprayed the inside and outside with the stretching spray, put the shoe stretcher in the shoe all night. This morning I tried it on and I would say it is around 80% where I need it to be to be considered perfect. I would say next time around I would take these to a cobbler and have them do it for me. I would say, you won't be disappointed in the quality and look of these: they are the perfect loafer. I just wish Sebago would offer WIDE WIDTHS!
