      ★★★★★ Worth it
      Tamara Denke · January 23, 2026 · ✓ Verified · Customer review

Love this brand. First-time wear needs to be for stretching the leather. Once accustomed to your feet, they are awesome

★★★★☆ Very good, but a little too big than average 8 US shoes.
      Maria Fernanda Salazar Auz · June 27, 2022 · ✓ Verified · Customer review

Those shoes were for my son, he always wears 8 US size but this Docs are bigger than other 8 US size shoes. 7 US would have fitted perfectly. Anyway, the shoes are great, they match with almost everything and are very nice looking shoes.

★★★★☆ Like finding an old friend
      Edward Conley · January 21, 2021 · ✓ Verified · Customer review

I had a pair of these shoes in the 90's and recently revisited them. Same quality, fit, everything. The leather insoles mold to the contours of your feet while the outsoles have the air cushioning to allow for long walks without any problems. The same old break in problem occurred - wear thick socks when shoes are new.

★★★★★ One of my favorite DrM Styles
      I Love Tech 888 · January 19, 2021 · ✓ Verified · Customer review

I've always loved Dr Marten shoes. I've owned several pair over many many years. This stiff upper ankle style can take a few days to break in. The leather stretches and softens pretty quickly. To me, these shoes are workhorses. They can handle a huge amount of abuse and maintain a nice look regardless if I scuff them. The sole is also nearly indestructible. I'll continue to buy Dr Marten shoes as long as they are in existence.

      ★★★★★ Great Shoe
      TN Colby · January 02, 2020 · ✓ Verified · Customer review

Great shoe, fits great and looks great. Only complaint is the same about all new dress shoes - the leather at the top of the back of the shoe is hard and somewhat sharp until they get broken in. I still think it's a five. I have been wearing these daily for work for approximately four to five weeks.

★★★★★ Tip: you probably can buy a size bigger, but wear really tough socks
      Vladislav Galaktionov · December 22, 2019 · ✓ Verified · Customer review

My toes are hurting right now, ha-ha, but it is common experience with these. The quality of leather is awesome, and it can be felt that it is not just a fake eco leather. Shoes can be worn at a wide range of temperatures, so depending on location you can wear them for all seasons.

★★★★★ Socialist Republic of Vietnam makes great shoes and coffee!
      E Bay Play · November 30, 2016 · ✓ Verified · Customer review

I find the build quality to be great. Perhaps they are somewhat large - but this allows for an insole if this becomes an issue. I liked these so much I actually purchased a second pair of the same shoe.

★★★★★ and looks great when wearing
      Jonathan JMan · November 11, 2016 · ✓ Verified · Customer review

This is definitely a manly shoe, and looks great when wearing. The stitching is still holding the shoe together nicely. Not only are the Dr.Martens a favorite work and dress shoe, they are reliable and durable and well worth what I paid for these new ones. I cannot recommend the Dr. Marten brand highly enough.

★★★★☆ Super comfortable, but you need to wear in the heel which rubs for a while. Recommended
      Tristan T. · May 05, 2016 · ✓ Verified · Customer review

Took a week or more to wear in the heel until it wasn't painful. Annoyingly the tongue often gets pushed in a bit as you put your foot in and gets a wrinkle which you need to pull out before tying up the laces. Super comfortable to walk on for extended periods. Well recommended

★★★★★ it looks like these will last me a long time
      Matt · June 13, 2015 · ✓ Verified · Customer review

Shopped around many different shoe brands for business casual dress shoes, and none of them seemed to last more than a year of use. I've had a couple pairs of brown casual Doc Martens for 10 years or so that still hold up, so I figured I'd be OK getting the dressier version. Fit is the same as Doc's I've always had, and after almost a year, it looks like these will last me a long time.

★★★★☆ I love Dr. Martens as a whole
      BryanL · May 15, 2015 · ✓ Verified · Customer review

I love Dr. Martens as a whole. They are a very comfy and durable shoe. These however run a little large and tend to slide around on my feet. Also the back of the shoe is made of a rather stiff leather which rubs on the back of my heel. I would probably try to drop half a size if I were to purchase these again.

★★★★☆ They don't make them like they used to
      Umalum1990 · May 08, 2015 · ✓ Verified · Customer review

Comfortable, but not as much as they were when I bought my first pair 20 years ago. Used to not have to break a pair of docs in, but now you need to wear for about a week. Would I buy again, probably, because I like the style and overall they are fine, but not like my first couple pairs.

★★★★☆ Durable, good looking. Runs big overall, but a touch short on length.
      Koda · April 20, 2015 · ✓ Verified · Customer review

This is a good-looking, sturdy shoe. This 3 Eye Shoe tends to run wide, and for me, just a little short in length. It is stiffer than average, but I found that a shoe insert helped with overall comfort. It has stood up to heavy use very well. Looks great with jeans.

      ★★★★☆ Doc Martins
      Jeff Eyman · December 08, 2014 · ✓ Verified · Customer review

Two things kept this purchase from a 5. I wear a size 10 and have no problem with other manufacturers size 10, this 10 is larger. They squeak - I narrowed it down to where the leather makes contact with the stitched band. You have to put some shoe oil or paste in between leather and band.

      ★★★★★ Quality is back!
      GroovyGeek · October 28, 2014 · ✓ Verified · Customer review

My four-year-old 1461s finally gave up the ghost and I wanted another pair. The bump in quality was evident at first sight. Construction is much more sturdy and the overall finish is perfect. Fit is excellent and very little break-in period was necessary. I think these should be good for at least five or six years.

      ★★★★☆ One major flaw
      C. Jackson · October 18, 2014 · ✓ Verified · Customer review

I have unusually shaped, quite wide feet and it is very difficult to find comfortable shoes. My biggest complaint is the backs of the heels - the stitching is very hard and sharp, which irritated my Achilles' tendons. I invested in some heel liners and it made a world of difference. Besides that one complaint, I'm glad to have found another brand of shoes that fit my feet, and the soles are very comfortable.

★★★★★ Stick with The Classics-You Won't be Disappointed
      David R. · May 23, 2014 · ✓ Verified · Customer review

If you're a fan of DMs or getting a pair for the first time, go with a classic DM shoe like these. Simple, strong, versatile. These DMs are extremely comfortable after the mandatory break-in period, and they will last three times longer than the cushioned styles.

★★★★★ i have had a pair of Doc's in my wardrobe for the last 20 years and they have yet to disappoint.
      Eric pennystone · March 27, 2014 · ✓ Verified · Customer review

As with all Docs, they have a break in period that is tough on your heels. Just wear double socks, and some bandaids for a couple of days, and you are good to go. I am on my feet all day and I need comfortable shoes. These look great with my suits. If you are on the fence about getting these shoes, go for it. You won't be disappointed. They will last for years.

★★★★☆ Digs into the back of my heels
      David Holcomb · April 07, 2013 · ✓ Verified · Customer review

I have had a brown pair of these that I have loved for years. They hold up extremely well, and are very comfortable. Got blisters where the top of the back digs into my ankle/heel, as I remembered from breaking in the brown ones. But once I broke them in they were great. Otherwise they look and feel great.
