Highly recommended, these are very comfortable and the fit is perfect. I ruptured my plantar fasciitis and these were recommended by my doctor to help with scar tissue that was bothering me. I have to say being on my feet 12 hours these help.

★★★★☆ Classic Comfort with a Few Fit Considerations — Still a Reliable Choice
      Michelle Kim · October 11, 2025 · ✓ Verified · Customer review

I bought these leather clogs for my husband, and they’ve quickly become a favorite for casual wear around the house and running errands. The leather is high-quality and softens nicely over time, molding to the foot for that signature Birkenstock comfort. The cork footbed provides excellent support, making them ideal for long periods of standing or walking. The style is timeless and versatile, pairing well with casual outfits without looking sloppy. The only minor drawback is sizing as it can feel a bit snug at first, especially across the toe box, so a break-in period is necessary. Once worn in, though, they’re very comfortable and supportive.Overall, these are well-made, reliable clogs that deliver the comfort and durability Birkenstock is known for. These are a great buy for comfort, craftsmanship, and classic style, with only minor fit considerations to keep in mind.

It fits as expected! I’ve owned 4 pairs already. They’re a liiiiiitle bit too wide for me, but they’re just fine honestly is super comfy for work with any kind of socks.I think the narrow kind might be better for people with really really skinny feet, so just expect them to be looseish.Totally worth the money. The oiled color is super nice.As the photo shows, they are an European size 37 for the 6-6 1/2 US sizing.

The video is of my old ones. To show how the wear looks. I love my old birkenstocks... but the cork is now deeply cracked in the heal area. I wore them while on chemotherapy and lost weight. So they really have gotten stretched out. They were loose on my feet...9YEARS! And they do hold up Great! Only clogs I wear every where if I can. So I'm replacing them with new ones. Toe box has little wiggle room, width is great since I have narrow feet. Arch support is just right. They fit well. Just like I knew they would Birkenstock never disappoints me.!!!

I love Birkies! I cannot afford them all the time. I have a pair of Arizona sandals I've had for years and love them! I also bought the croc like thong sandal last summer. Hubs purchased these for me as a bday gift. I received them within the estimated time period. I love them except the left shoe is tight, and the right shoe fits as expected. I have worn them around the house for 2 days to break them in. I don't want to return them but I might have to since the left one hurts the top of my foot :(

★★★★☆ This is a big shoe...
      OK Amy · March 16, 2019 · ✓ Verified · Customer review

I like this shoe and wear on a daily basis with thick wool socks. I do not anticipate being able to wear in the warmer months. Closed toe shoes are a requirement for work and will be purchasing another, smaller pair for warmer months. The sole appears to be wearing faster than previous pairs. It is a very wide shoe. I have average width feet but, do not like my toes to feel "bunched up", so this is not a problem. My arches are very high. I wouldn't consider the support to be extraordinary, but I stand comfortably, for twelve hour shifts.

★★★★★ I love my Birks, but mismatch color. AUTHENTIC Birks
      Amazon Customer · August 15, 2017 · ✓ Verified · Customer review

I ordered the Taupe color. When they arrived they were a green taupe color not a light tan as seen in the Amazon photo. If you order the Taupe tan clogs, you'll get this color instead. I still love my Birks & they fit perfect! They're a good neutral color to match a lot of outfits. Very happy, even though the color isn't a match.Update... I’ve had my Birks for a few months. Someone asked in the questions if they’re authentic. YES they are & I love them. I’m actually glad they’re a little darker than the light tan I thought I ordered. Then they don’t dirty as easily. They’re forming to my feet now that I’ve worn them multiple times & they’re my favorite fall shoes right now.

★★★★★ The Best for plantar fasciitis
      Enrique Vargas · April 25, 2017 · ✓ Verified · Customer review

I am a chef in NYC, very fast pace 3 star restaurant and I ended up catching one of the worst things a chef can catch, which is plantar fasciitis, anyone who has had this knows that it is painful, for me I had/have it on both feet. I went to therapy, I received shots and was told to stay off my feet for months. Well telling a chef to stay off his feet is like telling a cop he can't have his badge or gun... when having plantar fasciitis you have to change a lot, one is the shoes you wear, for me I couldn't wear dress shoes or boots, I changed my chef shoes and sneakers, after so much research I tried these and they were the best fit for me, now, I am not sure if anyone else can wear these or would be allowed to wear these if they are prepers or line cooks but since I'm the head chef they don't bother me, but because these don't have a back they may be an issue for management. However, these are a god sent as they help me so much, I also changed to Nike Air as I read that also helps with plantar fasciitis. These were the best shoes I've ever used.Again, before buying these to use make sure you let the chef know or management know if you can first, if they don't care, go for it, you will not regret it....Also, they are slip resistant but not as good as a really good chef shoe, but they are good enough for a fast pace restaurant

I had a pair of Birkenstocks over a decade ago and hadn't worn them since. Saw a few friends with them and liked the style, so decided to get a pair. I bought the Tobacco color as I like it the best. The package arrived quickly and in good condition. The shoes were just as shown in the picture. I wear a size 9 US, so ordered the 40 which is the size I wear in Alegria and Dansko as well. These Birkenstocks fit perfectly. I am noticing they take a bit of getting used to as the supports are different than the Alegria that I normally wear, but after a couple days, my feet are adjusting. I still wear Alegria at work as I need extra cushion on the concrete floors. On my days off though, these are my new go to shoes. They look and feel earthy, which is exactly what I wanted. I may eventually splurge for some sandles too, but it's winter now. I can wait.

★★★★★ These are AWESOME! I wear them all the time
      PushingEarth · August 22, 2016 · ✓ Verified · Customer review

These are AWESOME! I wear them all the time. It took some time to break them in because of how thick the leather is, but I am so happy I took the time to break them in right. When I first got them, the top of the clog dug into the top of my foot and left some pretty deep indents, but now they are perfect. I keep these in my car so that after work, I can kick off my heels and drive home in comfort. I also like having them for after a hike when I just don't want to be in those dirty hiking boots anymore. The best part is, that no matter what I've been doing, these shoes hug my arches and allow my feet to relax. These are great shoes, but the do take some time to break in...especially if you have fat feet like I do. If you do not take the time to actually break in the leather, then they will be the least comfortable shoes you will own and you will hate them.

★★★★★ I'm very familiar with a good, comfortable pair of shoes
      Noël C. · April 02, 2016 · ✓ Verified · Customer review

I'm very familiar with a good, comfortable pair of shoes. I've had plenty and they make my feet happy to slip them on.With that being said, these shoes go beyond comfort! They are therapy for my feet and up to now, I have never found a pair of shoes that comfort my feet such as these.I could tell myself that I had comfortable shoes. I could tell myself that I could wear a certain pair of shoes all day long. These shoes not only wear comfortable, I can stand in them all day, I can wear them all day walking and strutting and at the end of the day, when I get home, put on my pajamas and settle in for the evening, I will still leave these shoes on rather than put on a pair of slippers or opt for bare feet. These shoes soothe my feet, are therapy for my feet, are comfortable beyond measure and ... well ... just freakin' AWESOME!!!It's very challenging for me to find a pair of shoes that fit my Fred Flinstone (nuff said) feet. These are the ticket!

★★★★★ ONLY shoes I wear due to arthritis
      CrazyDaisy · February 25, 2016 · ✓ Verified · Customer review

I love my Birkenstock clogs. I have arthritis in my left foot, so my podiatrist suggested wearing any style Birkenstocks all the time, even at home. He explained that most shoes are flexible and the bones in my foot will just flex with it causing them to grind against each other. Going barefoot does the same thing. Birks give me great support and I rarely feel any pain. I no longer use a cane or hobble along, slowing down my family and friends.I usually have to buy a wide shoe, but the Birkenstock medium fits just right. My only problem with them is that I need to get a new pair every year. The cork sole wears down in the back. Of course, since it's literally the only shoe I wear all year, I can't really complain!

      ★★★★★ Great shoes!
      Renae · November 04, 2015 · ✓ Verified · Customer review

I ordered a narrow as I have a rather narrow foot; however, while the length of the shoe is perfect, the width is too wide. If I tighten the strap across my instep to the tightest hole, it's too tight against my instep. However, I have a little higher instep than normal. The footbed comfort is awesome. My feet never get tired in these shoes. I'm planning to try either the felt or a suede in the same style in the hopes that the material/leather will be soft enough to allow for my higher instep so that I can have the buckle on the tightest hole. The only reason I gave these shoes 4 stars rather than 5 was the width issue. If you have a medium width foot, I would think the narrow would fit fine. I need to update my review since I've now worn these clogs for a week or two. The leather which originally was quite stiff, is now more broken in. So I can now tighten the buckle to the tightest hole and these shoes now fit well and I'm not walking out of them. Yay! If my feet are tired from wearing other shoes, I find instant foot relief when I slip into my Birks. I thought my Crocs were comfortable, but these Birks far surpass the Crocs in comfort and provide much more support for my feet and arches. I love them and have already ordered another pair in gray wool felt.

      ★★★★☆ Birkenstocks are great shoes
      J.Moore · February 26, 2014 · ✓ Verified · Customer review

Birkenstocks last so long that I haven't bought a pair in a lot of years and it was difficult (even on their own web site) to figure out exactly what a soft foot-bed was and what the different "arch" designations mean. They should be more clear. The shoe stilltakes a little breaking in time, but that's not a problem. What is a problem is that the top part of the shoe collapses when not being worn-not always, but often. This means you can't just slide your foot into it, you have to maybe find a place to sit so you can put it on if you don't have the balance to stand on one foot. Some of the pictures actually show this collapse and my old ones didn't do this so it's a bit of a disappointment.

      ★★★★☆ Great Foot Support
      Gina · December 27, 2013 · ✓ Verified · Customer review

I broke my foot and my foot surgeon said I had a choice of shoes to wear at this point in my recovery - Birkenstocks or Birkenstocks. So I ordered a pair and I read the chart on the sizes. The 1st pair were huge so watch carefully. I wear a normal so I ordered another pair and Amazon had them here the very next day. They fit much better - still a little large but they feel great and and I can see why he wanted me to wear them. The support is great and you can tell their quality is amazing. They're not my normal "style" but when I've worn them now I've had several compliments on them. So broken foot or not, I wouldn't hesitate to order the same brand again. So A from me and A+ from my foot surgeon!

★★★★☆ Takes some getting used to
      AJM · September 18, 2013 · ✓ Verified · Customer review

I bought these since I am on my feet a lot and was having pain in my arches to my toes. The footbed feels great and relieves the strain on my arches. I am still breaking them in.They do take some getting used to, they fit loosely, which I understand is some of the point to allow your foot to move freely. I end up kind of dragging my shoes on the ground, which I know a lot of Birk-wearers do, but that is a pet peeve of mine which I will just have to get over! The color is great, more of a burgundy/merlot red than a bright red which is great. The texture of the leather is smooth but not shiny. Other than feeling loose, size is true.

★★★★★ Finally a comfortable shoe I can wear to work!
      Monica · August 10, 2013 · ✓ Verified · Customer review

5 YEAR UPDATE: I'm still wearing these shoes daily to work and running errand. I'm on my third set of footbeds thanks to my local Birkenstock repair center (new cork footbed and soles run about $70-80). I'm pretty hard on shoes, and these take quite the beating and keep going. I totally love them! The photo was taken just after my third footbed (the tops are squished in the photo, but they still hold the shape).Original Review: These shoes are wonderful because they meet all the requirements for my workplace dress code and they are comfortable. An added bonus for me is our local shoe store is an authorized Birkenstock repair shop. That means this clogs will last for forever! If you're thinking of purchasing these, keep these things in mind:- Birkenstocks require a longer break in period than other shoes. They soften over time and become custom fit to your foot.- These are NOT for wandering through puddles. The cork at the back is sealed, but the sealant will need refreshing occasionally. I purchased a small bottle of cork glue from my local dealer and make sure to treat the cork occasionally.- The sole does have latex in it, however, the footbed (the part your feet will come in contact with) is leather. This was an initial concern for me as I'm allergic to latex. I haven't had a single reaction to these shoes, so no worries. :)These shoes are pretty much like a dream come true! Birkenstock for me marries function and comfort. Perhaps they aren't the most fashionable, but an extra long slack means that my boss is none the wiser and I don't get lectured about how I live in hippie sandals.

      ★★★★★ Birkenstock Saves My Feet
      Katawampas · May 06, 2013 · ✓ Verified · Customer review

I have pain in my metatarsal (forefoot) area; the older I get, the more padding I'm losing. A podiatrist recommended I always wear shoes with support, even at home. I used to wear slippers with some padding but that just doesn't cut it anymore & I think it led to damaging my feet. Birkenstocks were suggested & since I've owned a pair of the sandals for about 10 years (!), I decided to give them a try as my at-home shoes.I've been wearing them for about 6 months now, every day as soon as I get home. They have made a huge difference in how my feet feel. The metatarsal pain has not gone away completely but it is significantly diminished.I like this slip on/slip off version because it's more like a slipper. They are also pretty much non-marking although you can leave a light mark on a floor if you turn really fast. The mark is easily wiped off with just a damp cloth; no scrubbing. These shoes wear really well. I tend to be a "stomper" & a fast-walker but these shoes can handle it.I normally wear size 7.5 (US size). My feet are average width. The 38 M (EU) fits me perfectly. My toes can wiggle & I can wear thick socks if I choose. There is some break-in time with these shoes. The heat of your foot & your weight will form the cork to your feet. If you've ever tried on someone else's Birkenstocks, you'll know what I mean. Some people have trouble with this & should wear them for a few hours at a time until broken in. I did not experience any pain with my break-in period. You can have these shoes resoled, the liners replaced, etc. at a good shoe repair shop. People love their Birki's & hate to throw them away.I bought 4 more pair of Birkenstocks since I bought these….I have 2 pair I only wear inside my house & 2 pair for running errands/casual wear. They are worth every penny they cost! Your feet are not replaceable so take care of them before they cause you pain.
